England vs Pakistan News :

England :

England is the World’s number 1 ranked team in ODI cricket right now and goes into this tournament as the favorite. They lost first warm-up match against Australia but they bounce back in tournament by winning back to back matches. They won the second warm-up match with 9 wickets and they won the first world cup against south Africa by huge 104 runs. The pressure for England is going to be immense since they are the hosts after all. They also have a lot to prove given their mishaps in the champions trophy in both 2013 and 2017. Pakistan, on the other hand, has a lot more pressure to deal with. To walk into a competition after having lost the previous one may be harder to cope with. However, we hope they do the needful and manage to give England a tough fight. In fact, given their recent defeats against the English, they could be all the more pumped to prove their mettle.Jason Roy and Joe Root started to play their natural game and kept hitting boundaries. They went on to complete their respective half-centuries and notched up 100-run partnership. South Africa bowlers dismissed both batsmen in quick succession to bring their side back in contest. England skipper Eoin Morgan, who was playing his 200th ODI match, and Ben Stokes started slow but picked up the pace later in their innings. They also completed their fifties and looked on course for a big total. Eoin Morgan trying to accelerate departed after scoring 57 runs. From there, South Africa bowlers picked up wickets in regular intervals and didn’t allow the English batsmen to score runs freely. Ben Stokes’ innings of 89 helped England a challenging total of 311/8.
They also had strong batting order Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan, Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Jofra Archer.Out of 11 9 player can bat and they are at good form.England have still not zeroed in on their pace options heading into the World Cup and these warm-up games were a litmus test for the fast bowlers. One pacer who clearly leaved a mark was Plunkett and Jofra Archer with four wickets each in the warm-up matches. They also have many options in bowling end Rashid, Chris Woakes, Moeen Ali, Tom Curran and Ben Stokes.

Pakistan :

Pakistan have struggled with consistency in their recent matches. They lost all the series they recently played and they continued poor from in world up warm-up matches. They also lost first match against west Indies.Pakistan were bowled out for just 105 runs in 21.4 overs against the West Indies in their opening match of World Cup 2019 at Trent Bridge on Friday. West Indies then chased down the target inside 14 overs to hammer Pakistan by seven wickets. Oshane Thomas took four wickets as West Indies skittled Pakistan for their second-lowest World Cup total. Chris Gayle then smashed a quick-fire fifty as the West Indies romped home in just 13.4 overs.Pakistan bank on their top-three batsmen to provide them solid foundations so the batsmen beneath them can play freely. Their opening pair, comprising Imam ul Haq and Fakhar Zaman, has been amongst the most successful ones with 1,260 runs at an average of 57.27 in the past two years. It is bettered by Dhawan-Rohit (2,091 runs at 44.48) and Bairstow-Roy (1,675 at 64.42). Their one-drop, Babar Azam, has also been in prime form, averaging 52.44 with a strike rate of 92.18. That his numbers read so well despite all of his 10 innings – divided equally against South Africa and England at their homes – against daunting bowling line-ups and in not so placid conditions is phenomenal.

Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz are two key fast bowling attack for Pakistan. They bowling good in this series by picking 3 wickets each.Pakistan have only hope on bowling end.His inclusion promises to provide Pakistan’s pace department that venom which they seem to have lost. Riaz’s was a surprise inclusion in the side as he had been completely ruled out of the future plans by both the chief selector and the head coach since he was dropped from the ODI side a little less than two years ago. It was the poor run of the Pakistan pace department during the recently-concluded England series which brought about a change of mind.
